1. CREATE YOUR OWN FUNDRAISING MITZVAH CAMPAIGN ON FACEBOOK or GOFUNDME.
Get your friends together to help out in spreading the word about your mitzvah project. Go viral!
To create a Facebook fundraiser, go to https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/ and click the “Select Nonprofit” button. Select The Survivor Mitzvah Project’s page by searching for its name in the search bar. Add a fundraising goal, currency, and timing, and click Next. Fill in the title and description of your fundraiser and click Next. Pick a cover photo. Then click Create, and your fundraiser will be live to the public. Share your campaign with your friends.
To create a GoFundMe campaign, go to https://www.gofundme.com/ and click the “Start a GoFundMe” button. Register and create your campaign. Select the “nonprofit” for the “Who are you raising money for?” question and search for The Survivor Mitzvah Project’s name. After agreeing to the GoFundMe terms and privacy policy, add the main image, and write your story. Use your social media skills to share the campaign and raise funds!
2. JOIN THE HOLLYWOOD STARS who have read letters from Holocaust survivors in front of invited audiences to raise funds for The Survivor Mitzvah Project. Create your own online or offline event by inviting your friends and family members. You can stream your event on YouTube or Instagram. Download scripts and materials (background image, posters, flyers, Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations, donation envelopes, and inserts) to make this a big success. This form of fundraising is meaningful, educational, creative, and effective. This event touches people’s hearts and prompts them to be proactive in helping Holocaust survivors.
Don’t forget to rehearse your speech! After finishing the event, send thank you notes to everyone involved and write a thank you post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or other social media platforms you use. On our part, we will send a tax-deductible donation acknowledgment and thank you letter for every donation received.
3. CREATE A “GIVING CIRCLE” WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND RAISE FUNDS OFFLINE
This is a great way to let people know what they should give as a Bat Mitzvah gift or Bar Mitzvah Gift.
Include our Bar Mitzvah announcement card or Bat Mitzvah announcement card with your invitation telling everyone that you have chosen The Survivor Mitzvah Project as your mitzvah project, include a donation envelope and insert, and urge them to donate in your name.
If your invitations have already been sent out, you can send a flyer, a donation envelope, and insert to everyone on your guest list, telling them about your project and the urgent need to help. Call us at 800-905-6160 and we can send you a box of donation envelopes. Also, you can send out informational packets to people you feel might wish to contribute to this cause. If only 10 people contribute $100, you have raised $1000!
To raise funds at your reception/party, have a Survivor Mitzvah Project display table so that people can donate on the spot or take materials home. Print posters, flyers, Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations, donation envelopes, and inserts to inform guests on your mitzvah project. People who have done this have raised thousands of dollars at their party. While everyone is celebrating, they can also be part of a meaningful experience. You can also play a slideshow and short videos on a screen or computer. Call us at 800-905-6160 and we can email you a link to a video file).
4. SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THE SURVIVOR MITZVAH PROJECT.
Write or blog about The Survivor Mitzvah Project, and if there is a teenage section in your local Jewish newspaper, write about/blog the project and urge others to make this their mitzvah project as well. Find other Jewish papers online and do the same. The more people who get involved, the more lives we can save.

Email the website https://www.survivormitzvah.org/ to everyone you know and encourage them to donate and forward it on to their family and friends. Mention that they should visit the LETTERS section. Usually, people read a few letters and immediately donate, so this is a great way to help. Periodically, re-email the site to everyone as a reminder.
